Enter the Gungeon: Item Tier List & Synergies
Items are the lifeblood of the Gungeon. This guide ranks every major item and explains the best synergies.
S-Tier Items (Game-Changing)
- Bullet Time: Slows time when you dodge. Makes bullet hell manageable.
- Ring of the Fire Spirit: Your bullets explode on impact. Massive AoE.
- Alien Engine: Your guns fire 3 bullets per shot. Insane DPS increase.
- Belt of Gigantic Strength: You become huge and your melee attacks cleave through everything.
- Heart of the Void: You become invincible for 3 seconds after taking damage.
A-Tier Items (Strong)
- Metronome: Your damage alternates between 2x and 0.5x. Net positive if you time your shots.
- Huntress Mark: Enemies you hit take +25% damage from all sources.
- First Born Crown: Your active items recharge 50% faster.
- Chaotic Barrage: Your bullets ricochet off walls. Great for corner camping.
- Blood-Born: Killing an enemy heals you for 1 HP. Strong sustain.
B-Tier Items (Situational)
- Scope: Your bullets pierce enemies. Good for lined-up enemies.
- Medkit: Heal 3 HP per floor. Decent sustain.
- Mystery Egg: Random item on pickup. High risk, high reward.
- Tactical Nuke: Kills all enemies on the floor. One-time use.
F-Tier Items (Avoid)
- Cursed Mask: You cant heal. Actively harmful.
- Black Hole: Sucks in your bullets. Makes guns useless.
- Devils Penny: All pickups become cursed. Terrible.
Best Item Synergies
- Bullet Time + Any High Fire Rate Gun: You can dodge-roll through entire bullet patterns while dealing massive damage.
- Ring of the Fire Spirit + Alien Engine: Every bullet explodes, and you fire 3 per shot. Screen-clearing AoE.
- Huntress Mark + Any Boss Weapon: Bosses take 25% more damage, making boss fights trivial.
- Blood-Born + Any Fast Weapon: Constant healing from rapid kills. Nearly unkillable.
Passive vs Active Items
- Passive items are always active (Bullet Time, Ring of the Fire Spirit)
- Active items need to be used (Tactical Nuke, Heart of the Void)
Priority: Always pick up passive items first. They provide constant value.
