Events to Avoid

Event-Specific Strategies
The Duel
- Best choice: Challenge the warrior
- Strategy: Use block cards to survive his attacks. He has 60 HP and deals 8 damage per turn.
- Reward: Rare card + 50 gold
The Drug Dealer
- Best choice: Buy the experimental potion
- Strategy: The potion gives you 3 random potions. High value for 50 gold.
- Risk: None
The Ghost
- Best choice: Accept the ghosts offer
- Strategy: You get the Apparition card (ethereal, cost 0, gain 3 strength). Incredible value.
- Risk: You lose 10 max HP
- Verdict: Always take. Apparition is one of the best cards in the game.
The Merchant
- Best choice: Buy a card, then buy a relic
- Strategy: Cards are cheaper than relics. Buy the card first, then the relic if you have enough gold.
- Tip: The merchant restocks after you buy everything. Come back later if you need more cards.
Advanced Tips
- Always purge cards when given the chance. Card removal is the most important mechanic in the game.
- Take risk-free rewards (The Library, The Divine Fountain) every time.
- Avoid events that add wounds unless you have a way to remove them.
- Save gold for card removal at shops. Its worth 75 gold every time.
- Learn event outcomes before you play. Knowledge is power in Slay the Spire.
